Huascar has lived artfully in Topeka, Kansas since 2001. His hometown was San Antonio, TX but he does not miss things that do not fit in his ticket pocket. Huascar’s work encompasses deep imagery and metaphor. His time is well spent performing theater, singing and writing. He is a member of Topeka’s Speak Easy Poetry Group and the Red Tail Collective in Lawrence. His first published poem appeared in HomeWords: A Project of former Kansas Poet Laureate Wyatt Townley. Huascar’s words can be found in Reverberated Echoes: A Kansas City Reader (Asinimali Publications) and Prompts! : A Spontaneous Anthology by the poets of Poetic Underground (39 West Press). How to Hang the Moon, his first published collection of work was published by Spartan Press in February 2017 as part of their POP! Poetry series.
